POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

 

Position:             Assistant Superintendent / Campus Director-Elect

                           Presumptive Campus Director for FY26

                           Exempt Certified Professional, Full-Time, 12-month Staff

                           District Employee Assigned to Afton Campus

 

Starting Date:      TBD

 

Reports to:          Deputy Superintendent / Superintendent         

 

Schedule:            General work schedule of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday, unless the assignment requires additional time for completion.

Compensation

Package:             $123,346 - $124,846 plus a salary supplement of $5,191 - $8,395 annually, commensurate with experience. Health, dental, vision, paid life insurance, and teachers’ retirement paid; flexible benefits plan; sick leave, vacation, and paid holidays.  Total minimum compensation package approximately $160,546 - $167,441 annually. Use of a school car to and from work location.   

Primary

Function:            Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, assisting the current Campus Director with the operation and supervision of a technology center campus. This includes campus budgeting, curriculum development, counseling of students, evaluation of certified and non-certified personnel, public relations, transportation, maintaining physical facilities, and other duties as assigned by the Superintendent. Must also maintain positive public relations and professionally represent Northeast Technology Center at all times.

 

                           This individual will spend FY25 becoming familiar with the partner schools, communities, personnel, and operational practices of the Afton Campus, as well as the District culture and organizational management structure and function.

 

Education:          Master’s degree required.

 

Experience:         Must have experience as a teacher, supervisor, or administrator of vocational programs. Must hold a current standard Superintendent’s Certificate as defined by the Oklahoma Department of Education and Oklahoma Department of Career & Technology Education and must be eligible to pursue attainment of the Career-Tech School Administrator Credential. All positions require a criminal history background check and a pre-employment physical, drug and alcohol screening. Section 135, Oklahoma School Code prohibits a school from employing or re-employing anyone who has been convicted of a felony.

JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Exempt, Certified Professional, Full-time, 12-month Staff

 

TITLE:            ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT / CAMPUS DIRECTOR ELECT

 

Hours:             

Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. The Supervisor retains the right to adjust the work schedule and job description/duties based on the needs of the district.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Comply with all state and federal laws and school district policies and procedures.
  2. Responsible for the supervision of all instructors and support personnel at the campus.
  3. Responsible for the evaluation of all personnel under their supervision in accordance with school policies.
  4. Recommend employment and discharge of personnel to the superintendent.
  5. Promote student and staff safety and security.
  6. Maintain safe facilities for students and staff.
  7. Enforce school policies concerning safety.
  8. Maintain student discipline.
  9. Supervise each program in a manner that will provide a high level of training for each student.
  10. Assist teachers with in-service training needed to develop their potential as instructors.
  11. Hold regular staff meetings to provide information to teachers and allow input from the faculty.
  12. Make recommendations to the Superintendent for repairs, maintenance, and purchase of equipment needed for the programs.
  13. Evaluate instructors in accordance with school policies and make recommendations to the Superintendent.
  14. Promote student organizations and encourage participation of students and teachers.
  15. Control flow of live work in programs.
  16. Continually evaluate the physical plant and equipment.
  17. Inform the Superintendent of necessary needs and repairs.
  18. Work with sending schools to promote programs and maintain close working relations.
  19. Provide partner schools with necessary information about the technology center and students' progress.
  20. Maintain positive public relations with local communities regarding the activities and accomplishments of technology students.
  21. Involvement in civic affairs of the community as time permits.
  22. Supervise receipts and disbursements of all funds at campus.
  23. Approve all campus purchases.
  24. Regular attendance following a designated work schedule. Must be able to work scheduled and extended hours and additional days/evenings as required by position responsibilities.

Education, Experience, and Qualifications:    

  1. Master’s degree required.

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:   

  1. Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously with associated deadlines.
  2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  3. Must be able to write grants and effectively present information to students, staff, administration, public groups, and the board of education.
  4. Must possess excellent human relations skills, proficiency in record keeping and prioritizing, and the ability to exercise initiative, independent judgment, and discretion in the performance of duties.
  5. Must be able to meet and confer with individuals and groups concerning various subjects, including confidential personnel and student matters.
  6. Must be capable of being calm and professional with numerous different personalities at various levels.
  7. Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language, including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  8. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office computer programs: Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word.

 

Training and Meeting Requirements:

  1. View or attend required Safety Training quarterly, either by video or in person.
  2. Attend professional development training opportunities as required by district policy.
  3. Attend meetings and provide information to the Administration and/or Board of Education as requested.

 

Work Environment:

  1. Operates in a professional office environment and/or classroom.
  2. Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
  3. Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to drive to meetings and training using a school vehicle.

 

Physical, Mental Demands, and Dependability:

  1. Light physical effort is required, such as loading paper in the copier and answering and returning phone calls.
  2. Must be able to care for oneself, see, hear, walk, stand, lift, bend, reach, climb, stoop, squat, speak, breathe, learn, read, concentrate, think, and perform work by doing manual tasks, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Terms of Employment:           

At-will for the first year of employment. After the first year, employment is considered annually in accordance with Oklahoma law.

 

Annual Evaluation:

The performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with Oklahoma law and the provisions of the board’s policy on evaluations.
