POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
Position: Business and Industry Coordinator
Exempt Non-Certified Professional, Full-Time, 12-month Staff
Starting Date: October 1, 2025
Reports to: Business and Industry Services Director
Schedule: General work schedule of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday, unless assignment requires additional time for completion.
Compensation
Package: $87,457 minimum annually, commensurate with experience. Health, dental, vision, paid life insurance, and teachers’ retirement paid; flexible benefits plan; sick leave, vacation, and paid holidays. Health insurance allowance Total minimum compensation package approximately $107,457 minimum annually.
Primary
Function: Provides leadership in the planning, development and delivery of quality instructional programs and support services for Business and Industry Services
Education: Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred
Experience: Five years of successful experience in vocational education and/or business and industry, with demonstrated skills for providing quality instructional programs and support services for business and industry. Experience in making presentations before large groups. Evidence of skills is important to fulfilling the position responsibilities.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Exempt, Non-Certified Professional, Full-time, 12-month Staff
TITLE: BUSINESS AND INDUSTRY COORDINATOR
Hours:
7:30 a.m. through 4:00 p.m. or 8:00 a.m. through 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Supervisor retains the right to adjust work schedule and job description/duties based on needs of the district.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Comply with all state, federal laws and policies and procedures of the school district.
- Attend meetings and provide information to the Superintendent and/or Director as requested.
- Identify prospective clients and assess training needs through formal and informal needs assessments.
- Maintain up-to-date client records, schedules, and safety information as required by BIS, Northeast Tech, and ODCTE.
- Recommend interventions that are technically accurate and appropriate to client’s business objective.
- Recruit, select, evaluate, and develop human resources to support delivered services to meet or exceed customer requirements.
- Coordinate development and/or selection of curricula, equipment and facilities to support training interventions that meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Manage delivery of TIP, TEI, TIG, and industry specific training and other services to satisfy customers and stakeholder requirements (i.e., monitoring, budgeting, scheduling, contracting, and evaluating).
- Establish and maintain client relationships and participate in civic and economic development activities to increase and enhance exposure to the community.
- Establish and coordinate collaboration and networking of industry partners to use resources effectively.
- Develop, complete, and submit reports to provide accurate data in a timely manner. Work collaboratively to promote short-term and full time programs that meet client needs.
- Prepare and present training proposals targeted to client objectives with accurate and complete information.
- Develop individual goals and objectives that are with philosophy, goals, and objectives of the school.
- Participate in the evaluation process using goal setting as the basis for the evaluation.
- Maintain a professional attitude and appearance through participation in civic and professional organizations and when representing Northeast Tech.
- When necessary, coordinate adjunct instructor selection, evaluations, and training.
- Attend professional development training opportunities and the annual vocation conference as required by district policy.
- Market business and industry training services and support economic development activities to increase client activity and tax base.
- Be responsible for the department's
- Comply with the board policies and procedures of the school district.
- Regular attendance following a designated work schedule. Must be able to work scheduled and extended hours and additional days/evenings as required by position responsibilities.
- Any other responsibilities or duties assigned by the Supervisor or Superintendent.
Education, Experience and Qualifications:
- An earned bachelor’s degree with a major in business occupational safety, industry, or manufacturing or a related discipline is required.
- Must be willing to become certified in the Oklahoma Department of Career Tech’s Business and Industry Services Certification Program within the first year of employment.
- Must have the ability to prepare plans, reports and budgets.
- Five years of successful experience in vocational education and/or business and industry providing quality instructional programs and support services for business and industry.
- Experience in making presentations before large groups.
- Evidence of skills important to fulfilling the position responsibilities is important.
- Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.
- Cannot be related to currently seated district school board members within the second degree of affinity or consanguinity.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements:
- Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously with associated deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
- Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities.
- Must be capable of being calm with and professional with numerous different personalities at various levels.
- Must have proficiency in record keeping, prioritizing, and scheduling; ability to exercise initiative, independent judgment, and discretion in performance of duties; know the importance of confidentiality.
- Must have knowledge of current state and federal regulations related to workplace safety.
- Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel, email applications and other computer applications is preferred.
Training and Meeting Requirements:
- View or attend required Safety Training either by video or in person on a quarterly basis.
- Attend professional development training opportunities as required by district policy.
- Attend meetings and provide information to Administration or Board of Education as requested.
Work Environment:
- Operates in a professional office environment and industrial shops.
- Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical, Mental Demands and Dependability:
- Light physical effort required for example: load paper in copier, answer and return phone calls.
- Must be able to: care for oneself, see, hear, walk, stand, lift, bend, reach, climb, stoop, squat, speak, breathe, learn, read, concentrate, think, and perform work by doing manual tasks, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Reports to: Director of Business and Industry
Terms of Employment:
At-will for the first year of employment. After first year, employment considered annually in accordance with Oklahoma law.
